Description
GeoStru Easy HVSR is a software for geophysical analysis that estimates the fundamental resonance frequency, stratigraphic profile, and shear wave velocity of the ground using the Horizontal to Vertical Spectral Ratio (HVSR) method. The software follows guidelines from the SESAME project for reliable analysis of passive seismic microtremor recordings from a single station.
Key features
- Data visualization: The software displays results through customizable charts, including:
- Traces in the three directions with selected time windows.
- Average spectrum of the traces.
- H/V spectral ratio curve with its confidence interval.
- Graphical representation of the stratigraphic profile.
- Velocity profile with depth.
- Data handling: Easy HVSR can import and export data in common formats:
- Import: SEG2, SAF, and ASCII files.
- Export: Stratigraphy in
.edp files and the H/V spectrum in .csv format.
- Project and interface features: The software includes other helpful features for workflow and display:
- Location services: Uses Bing Maps for plotting locations.
- User support: Offers a way to contact GeoStru staff directly from within the software.
- Customizable colors: Allows users to customize the color schemes for the charts.
Analysis workflow
The analysis in Easy HVSR follows a step-by-step process:
- Input of data: The user first inputs the general project data and seismic traces.
- Time window identification: Specific time windows are identified for analysis. The user can easily include or exclude windows.
- Spectral analysis: The selected windows are analyzed spectrally, and the user can set parameters like the frequency band and smoothing technique.
- H/V spectral ratio and stratigraphy analysis: The H/V spectral ratio is analyzed to determine the resonance frequency and stratigraphic characteristics.
