Description
BSI FB-MultiPier v5.6 is a nonlinear finite element analysis program for modeling and analyzing bridge piers. It allows users to analyze multiple interconnected bridge pier structures under static and dynamic loads, including those from bridge spans and environmental factors like seismic activity or vessel collisions. The software supports various load types from the AASHTO standard and includes features for dynamic analysis, soil modeling, and design table outputs.
Core functions
- Structural analysis: Performs nonlinear finite element analysis on complex bridge pier systems, including multiple piers connected by spans.

- Load handling: Analyzes structures under a wide range of loads, including static loads from the AASHTO standards and time-varying load functions for dynamic analysis.

- Dynamic analysis: Performs modal analysis to determine frequencies and mode shapes, and includes options for dynamic soil modeling with hysteretic damping and cyclic degradation.

- Vessel collision modeling: Simulates impacts from vessels, generating force-deformation relationships for analysis.

Key features
- Soil and foundation modeling: Features options for modeling soil behavior, including p-y, t-z, and q-z curves, and includes specific soil models for different soil types.

- Results visualization: Provides animated results of 3D displacement and offers tools to plot and view analysis data like p-y curves.

- Design and output: Includes features like “Design Tables” for streamlined post-processing and allows users to select and manage load cases and combinations.

- Advanced analysis options: Includes the CQC3 method for combining modal response and options for representing foundation systems in external software using equivalent stiffness matrices.
