Description
NovoCPT v4 is a powerful geotechnical software for processing Cone Penetration Test (CPT) and Cone Penetration Test with pore pressure (CPTu) data to estimate over 35 soil parameters and perform engineering analyses. The software is developed by Novo Tech Software Ltd. and is compatible with Windows operating systems.
Key Features and Descriptions
- Data Processing: Imports CPT data files, typically collected every 20 to 30 mm, and performs engineering analyses to process the large datasets.
- Soil Parameter Estimation: Correlates CPT data to more than 35 soil parameters, including:
- Friction angle, relative density, and unit weight
- Fines content, shear wave velocity, and Gmax
- Clay sensitivity, overconsolidation ratio (OCR), and undrained shear strength
- N60 (equivalent SPT blow counts), soil behavior type (SBT), and at-rest earth pressure coefficient (Ko)
- Soil Behavior Type (SBT) Classification: Determines SBT using several established methods, including Robertson (1986, 1990) and Jefferies and Been (2006).
- Engineering Analyses:
- Liquefaction Analysis: Assesses soil liquefaction potential, including post-liquefaction lateral spreading and settlement based on methods such as Zhang and Robertson (2004).
- Bearing Capacity Analysis: Calculates the bearing capacity of pad/strip footings using five different methods.
- Settlement Analysis: Estimates both elastic settlement (Schmertmann method) and one-dimensional consolidation settlement (Terzaghi method).
- Pile Bearing Capacity: Analyzes pile bearing capacity based on methods like the LCPC method.
- Reporting and Export: Generates professional reports which can be customized by selecting specific charts and then printed or exported to formats like Microsoft Excel or image files.
- User Interface: Features a user-friendly and intuitive interface with a complete help file and user’s manual accessible from within the program to assist users.
