NovoLAB v4 is a geotechnical software used for borehole log drafting, soil classification, and managing various soil laboratory and field test data. It is a product of NovoTech Software and helps users create professional, eye-catching reports.

- Borehole Log Drafting: The software allows users to quickly set up boreholes or test pits and enter field notes into a “smart” log. NovoLAB then automatically designs and draws the boring log, incorporating relevant test results from the project database.
- Lab Test Data Management: It processes data from a wide range of soil lab tests. The results from tests such as sieve analysis, Atterberg limits (liquid, plastic limits), direct shear, unconfined compression, and compaction are managed and can be integrated into reports.
- Soil Classification: NovoLAB determines the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS) and AASHTO classifications for soil samples based on the entered test data, such as sieve analysis results. It can also show corresponding soil hatch patterns on the logs.
- Field Test Integration: The software supports data entry and plotting for various field tests along the depth, including Standard Penetration Tests (SPT), Cone Penetration Tests (CPT), and Dynamic Cone Penetration (DCP) tests.
- 3D Visualization: Once borehole information is entered, users can interact with a 3D soil profile model, allowing for rotation, panning, zooming, and the ability to turn on/off different data layers. External 3D models and satellite images can also be added.
- Database Management: The program uses a Microsoft Access database to store all project data and includes features for easy database backup and management.
- Report Generation: It facilitates the preparation of professional reports and allows printing and exporting of models.
