Description

SLB Olga 2022 is a dynamic multiphase flow simulation software that models transient flow to predict how oil, gas, and water flow in wellbores and pipelines over time. Key features in the 2022 release include enhanced integration with the FieldTwin platform, improved fluid property tables (like PVT tables with impurities), and expanded compositional tracking capabilities, all designed to provide more accurate and flexible simulation for complex field developments and projects like carbon capture and storage (CCS). 

Core function
  • Transient multiphase flow simulation:
    The software models the time-dependent behaviors of three-phase flow (oil, gas, and water) to predict phenomena like slugging and surges, which are critical for deepwater and complex offshore/onshore developments. 

  • Predictive analysis:
    It allows engineers to analyze what-if scenarios, diagnose well flow problems, and optimize production for various well types, including conventional, long horizontal, and multilateral wells. 

Key 2022 updates
  • Integration with FieldTwin:
    Profile generators are better integrated, enabling the import of U-value and steel wall thickness to create simple walls for heat transfer calculations.
  • Fluid properties:
    It uses the latest version of KBC Multiflash and provides options for fluid engines like the one in Symmetry, expanding capabilities for projects like CCS.
  • Compositional tracking:
    Enhancements allow for setting compositions locally at each boundary and providing more flexibility by setting standard volumetric flow rates from a mass source.
